Quick Start Guide
Go from a new SayWall account to your first testimonial widget live on your website in under 10 minutes.

Before You Begin
You'll need a SayWall account and a website or page where you want to display testimonials. If you don't have an account yet, sign up free at saywall.io — no credit card required.
This guide takes about 10 minutes end-to-end.
Step 1 — Create Your Project
When you sign up, SayWall takes you through a short onboarding flow to create your first project. Enter your project name (your business or product name) and confirm.
Every project in SayWall is independent — it has its own testimonials, widgets, forms, and settings. Most users start with one project and add more as needed.
Already past onboarding? You'll land directly on your project dashboard. Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 — Collect Your First Testimonial
You have two options for getting your first testimonials into SayWall:
In the dashboard sidebar, click Forms. You'll see your default collection form.
Click the form to open it, then copy the shareable link. It looks like:
https://saywall.io/collect/your-project-slug
Send the link to a happy customer — via email, DM, or SMS. They click the link, fill out the short form, and submit.
When a submission arrives, go to Testimonials in the sidebar. New submissions appear with a Pending status. Click Approve to make it live.
Step 3 — Create a Widget
In the dashboard sidebar, click Widgets, then click Create Widget (or open an existing one if you already have one).
Select the layout that fits your page — Grid, Carousel, or a single featured testimonial. You can change this later.
Adjust colors, fonts, and background to match your brand. Enable dark mode if your site supports it. The live preview updates as you change settings.
Click Save. Your widget is now ready to embed.
Step 4 — Embed the Widget
Inside your widget, click the Embed tab. You'll see your embed code — two lines of HTML.
Copy the snippet. It looks like this:

<div data-saywall-widget="YOUR_WIDGET_ID"></div>Paste the snippet anywhere in your page's <body> where you want the widget to appear. The script tag can go once in <head> or <body> — if you have multiple widgets, you only need one script tag.

Save your changes and reload. The widget loads asynchronously — it won't slow your page. Your approved testimonials should appear within a second or two.
You're Live
Your first widget is now displaying real testimonials on your website.
From here, you can:
- Collect more testimonials — continue sharing your form link, set up an email sequence, or add it to your post-purchase flow
- Import more reviews — connect Trustpilot alongside Google to consolidate all your reviews in one place
- Create more widgets — add widgets to specific landing pages, product pages, or checkout flows with different testimonials for each
- Share your review page — link to
saywall.io/reviews/your-slugfrom your emails or social profiles as a standalone social proof page
Troubleshooting
Widget isn't appearing after I paste the code
Check that:
- The script tag is loading — open your browser's Network tab and look for
embed.min.jswith a200status - Your widget has at least one approved testimonial — pending testimonials are not displayed
- The widget ID in the
data-saywall-widgetattribute matches the ID shown in your dashboard
Form submissions aren't arriving
Make sure you're sharing the correct form link from the Forms section of your dashboard. Test it yourself by submitting a test entry.
Google import shows 0 reviews
Confirm you selected the correct business listing during setup. If your business has very few reviews or is newly listed on Google, the count may be low. See the Google Business integration guide for troubleshooting steps.
